Susan Kerr
Susan Kerr, RN
Managing Director

Susan Kerr serves as Managing Director of Sunland Specialty Insurance Group where she’s responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans and company policies, maintaining an open dialogue with customers, and driving organizational success.

Susan earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga, as well as certification in Gerontological Nursing from the ANCC. With her credentials as a Registered Nurse, she has held high level positions in both healthcare and business for more than 30 years. For the last few years, she has provided risk management consulting services in the long-term care setting with a goal of identifying, evaluating, and assessing hazards and helping organizations develop a culture of risk awareness.

In each leadership position, Susan has distinguished herself as an insightful leader, capable of understanding and implementing new policies and procedures that drive operational excellence. She’s passionate about building new things and helping lead high-performing teams. Customers and colleagues appreciate Susan’s reliability, diligent work ethic, and willingness to do whatever it takes to see the team, and each customer, succeed. She believes collaborative teamwork helps us grow as people and accomplish more than any individual could alone.

Susan and her sweet poodle, Talulah, call the Chattanooga area home. Outside the office, you will find her playing tennis, spending time with friends and family, or traveling to places off the beaten path. She enjoys the opportunity to learn more about the world and the beautiful people in it.

Christy Loeffler

VP of Operations +
Business Development

Christy Loeffler joined the SSIG team in August 2021 as the VP of Operations and Business Development and is responsible for the day-to-day agency operations and procedures. 

Christy graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in management.  She is a licensed property, casualty, life, and accident & health agent and has achieved the designations Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).  Christy began her insurance career in 1998. She has experience in insurance defense and has worked as a commercial underwriter for two national insurance companies. During her 10 years as a commercial underwriter, she was a certified technology underwriter and served on a technology underwriting committee.  Christy has been on the independent agency side of the business since 2014, focusing primarily on marketing and placement of commercial business and managing insurance company relationships.

Christy served on the board of Independent Insurance Agents of Genesee County Association from 2015-2021, most recently serving as president.  Her experience on both the carrier and independent agency side has given her the knowledge to partner with insurance companies to create the most robust coverage program for her clients.  Christy values her relationships and will put in the extra effort to make sure everyone she works with receives the highest degree of service while always doing the right thing at the right time.

Christy has always loved vacationing in Tennessee.  She relocated from Michigan in 2021 and now gets to call Chattanooga home.  Outside the office you will find her hiking new trails, exploring caves and marveling at waterfalls.

Brianna Ngeth
Account Manager

Brianna Ngeth joined the SSIG team in October of 2023 as an Account Manager responsible for the ongoing management of clients.  Brianna is a licensed property and casualty agent and has been in the insurance industry since 2019. She began working at an independent insurance agency in Chattanooga where she also took on many other important roles; she became a notary public and an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. She also helped in assisting people unfamiliar with business insurance and providing them with the proper information and confidence to build and maintain a successful business, showing them that it does not matter where they are from or what their experience is.  

Brianna is known for her attentiveness and highly responsive customer service. She is also very passionate about assisting and helping others and making sure that in every situation all people have a full understanding of what is going on and are comfortable moving forward. Brianna values making good relationships and always makes sure that she is helping people in every way that she can.   

Brianna was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. Outside the office you will find her with her family, working out or doing yoga, learning how to cook a new recipe, or reading poetry books. She also loves to travel and dreams of one day traveling all across Europe.

Seth Gaines
Seth Gaines
Account Manager

Seth Gaines joined the SSIG Team in March of 2024 as an Account Manager for Commercial and Personal lines of insurance.  Seth graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He’s a licensed property, casualty, life and health agent, as well as a licensed property adjuster.

Seth began his insurance career at a family-owned Independent Agency within Chattanooga during college in 2012.  There he worked as an Account Manager/ Assistant Office Manager for 7 years prior to transitioning to being a Field Property Adjuster for almost 5 years in New England and Florida.  In both roles, he was committed to helping each and every customer understand their policies, coverages, and future needs, as well as provide exceptional service from beginning to end.

Seth was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, and has recently relocated back to the area. Outside of the office Seth enjoys traveling to new places, spending time with family, going to sporting events, and attending anything automotive including shows, meets, races and the like
